THE CLASH
The Clash was one of the most successful British punk rock groups that existed from 1976 to 1986. They incorporated punk, reggae, rockabilly, and eventually many other music styles into their repertoire. They were also legendary for uncommonly intense stage performances.
From their earliest days as a band, The Clash stood apart from their peers with their musicianship, as well as their lyrics; the passionate, righteous political idealism in the lyrics by frontmen Joe Strummer and Mick Jones contrasted with the nihilism of the Sex Pistols and the simplicity of The Ramones.
The Clash's attitude and style, as much as their music, has influenced countless bands in all genres of music. In 2003 they were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Members Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, Topper Headon
THE SEX PISTOLS
AT NOTRE DAME HALL 15/11/76

The Sex Pistols were, despite their short existence, a very influential English punk band. While of the original set of UK punks The Clash were perhaps more articulate and politically motivated, The Damned more versatile, and Buzzcocks had more astute pop sensibilities, the Pistols achieved more recognition through their iconic punk rock passion and flamboyancy, and no other band of the era made such a lasting impression on British popular culture.
Past members Johnny Rotten
Steve Jones
Glen Matlock
Paul Cook
Sid Vicious
Wally Nightingale
Del Noones
Stephen Hayes
Jim Mackin
Steve New
Nick Kent
