Pantomime Photography

Pantomime images from around the world for licensing

Pantomime truly is a weird and wonderful form of entertainment, and a staple of the British Christmas performance season since the modern form rose to popularity in the Victorian era.

From the traditional pantomime horse, cow and goose, to the more bizarre versions of monkeys and lions - one or more actors dressed up in animal costume is a key ingredient along with of course the Pantomime Dame - usually played by a male star of the time such as George Lacey, Danny La Rue, Christopher Biggins, Barry Humphries, Paul O'Grady and not forgetting the original Widow Twankey - Dan Leno.

We have a large collection of pantomime images spanning from illustrations of the original 16th century Italian Commedia dell'arte characters Pierrot, Pantalone, Colombina et al, as well as John Rich's popular Harlequin character Lun and Joseph Grimaldi's clown both of the 1700s. We also offer hundreds of posters, programmes, portraits and performances images from all the traditional productions including Cinderella, Aladdin, Dick Whittington and His Cat, Puss in Boots and Jack and the Beanstalk.

A huge choice of high resolution Pantomime images are available now for immediate download and licensing
