We have great iconic images charting these genres from their early incarnations and artists right up to last nights hottest show.
Rock has its roots in the 1940s and 1950s with the merging of country music and the blues. Since then we've seen a countless number of spin offs covering a wealth of new styles and variations such as rock and roll, heavy metal, rockabilly, grunge, garage, math, punk and prog rock. Pop was also on the rise in the 50s, with the birth of the Teenager and subsequently the Teeny bopper.
We have access to iconic rock and pop archives from around the world as well as individual collections by renowned photographers such as Ian Dickson
, Marilyn Kingwill, Kevin Nixon, Steve Gillett, Joe Bangay
and Mel Longhurst - covering everything from Elvis and Buddy Holly, early Beatles, exclusive Rolling Stones; stadium rockers Aerosmith, Bon Jovi U2 and Queen; Britpop bands Blur, Pulp and Oasis; punk icons Patti Smith, The Sex Pistols, Blondie, X Ray Spex and the Ramones.
And in the pop arena our archive covers everyone form solo artists Elton, Lulu, Shirley Bassey, Kylie and Dizzee Rascal, boybands such as The Bay City Rollers, Duran Duran, The Osmonds, Take That and Boyzone, girl groups such as the Spice Girls, Destiny's Child and The Supremes, portraits, concerts and exclusive backstage shots.
