Jonty Clark

Jonty Clark is a freelance illustrator with a fantastic portfolio. After studying architectural glass and ceramics at the Royal College of Art he worked on many programmes in the visual effects department at the BBC, including Dr Who (when Sylvester McCoy played The Doctor), and then spent seven years designing museum displays.

In 1997, having always wanted to be an illustrator, he set himself up producing freelance illustrations for a range of clients including the Independent on Sunday - illustrating their TV & Film section, Mail on Sunday, The Times, Harper Collins Publishers, BBC History, BBC Music and BBC Countryfile Magazines and many others. His illustrations cover many big names in the world of performing arts, Beethoven, Simon Callow, Verdi, Bill Murray, Samuel-Coleridge-Taylor, Oliver Cromwell, Rossini, Benjamin Britten, Elvis Costello, Lang Lang, Jan Vogler, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Placido Domingo to name just a few!

Jonty also specialises in illustrative maps which includes explorer Levison Wood’s journey along the Nile; Corfe Castle in Dorset for the National Trust and East Yorkshire centred on St Mary’s Church at Beverley. One of his biggest commissions has been his illustration/caricature for a Game of Thrones spin-off book called The Wit and Wisdom of Tyri- on Lannister

As Jonty produces more of his fantastic illustrations they will be added to our online collection.
