Henrietta Butler
While working during the nineties and early noughties for many performing arts production companies and The Guardian newspaper, Henrietta photographed an array of pioneering and often iconic, writers and directs, actors and opera singers, dancers and painters, musicians, composers and conductors. Her photographic collection includes opera and theatre productions, concerts, festivals and an extensive archive of black and white portraits.
“The Guardian was Britain’s last newspaper to fully ‘go colour’ with photography, shortly after, it swiftly went digital. Working in black and white then, was also part of the thrill”
